The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage(ADACH), has planned to hold a series of exhibitions that will showcase exclusive pieces of craft which reflects Emirati tradition beautifully.

ADACH, has named the project Turathna and has urged countrymen to help the association identify and register old handicraft items including photographs, fabrics and other decorative items, that are preserved by individuals as their private collections.

The first expo will be organized at Al Ain National Museum on May 18, it will then be carried to various places for enriching the knowledge of the onlookers.

Traditional Emirati handicrafts include khoos (palm fronds weaving), saddoo (wool weaving), telli (embroidery), metal works, pottery, traditional jewellery, leather items and artifacts made from wood.

The purpose behind holding this special exhibition is to preserving Abu Dhabi's authentic culture, tradition and heritage, that is slowly dying.

ADACH, will also provide training to those who wish to bring back shine in the fading sector and would also promote the products on a larger scale to make them popular among buyers.
