Handicraft training to help generate extra income

Rural folks, more than a hundred in number from Basey, Pinabacdao, Hinabangan, and Catbalogan City have ventured into 'handicrafts' to increase their incomes and this venture is under the sub-contracting Partners for Innovation (SPIN) and will provide occupation to housewives and other adult males.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will act as a big brother and help and partner with a people's organization or an association or a group of good standing, which will implement the DTI mission.

Training on handicrafts has been provided to beneficiaries by craftsmen from Cebu City. The trainee women have called this training program as a good idea for keeping them busy as well as for providing them a better source of income.
