Goa handicrafts enjoy appreciation at Greece fair

The Thessaloniki international trade fair, one of the largest trade fairs in Europe, was inaugurated on 5th September at Thessaloniki Greece, wherein Goan handicrafts have been displayed as a part of Indian Pavilion. The exhibition will continue till 13th September.

The stall showcasing unique Goan handicrafts is attracting the herd of Greek art lovers, who are appreciating and purchasing varieties of handicrafts manufactured in Goa, said Mr Nikhil Desai, MD of Goa Handicrafts Rural Small Scale Industries Development Corp (GHRSSIDC).

Above 2.5 lakh visitors visit the port town of Thessaloniki Greece in order to take part in this annual international trade fair, wherein Indian artisans are giving live demonstrations of their handicraft items.

In addition to this, other traditional Indian artists including Heena artists are demonstrating their art and the Indian cultural performers such as Himachal Folk Dance Group and Odissi Classical Dance Group are presenting their dance forms in the exhibition.

An Indian Food festival is also going on in the fair which will continue till the end of exhibition.
