National Crafts Council built a new handicraft marketing complex at its Battaramulla premises similar to that of 'Delhi Haat', a handicrafts complex in India. This handicraft marketing complex encompasses 30 trade stalls which had been inaugurated by Rural Industries and Self-Employment Minister Mr. S.B. Nawinna on January 19.
The complex received funds, jointly from the Ministries of Tourism and Rural Industries and Self Employment Promotion. Moreover, the Tourism Ministry has launched a publicity campaign for this complex, and promised to bring foreign buyers to the complex twice a week, informed NCC Chairman Mr. Buddhi Keerthisena.
