ONA funds multiple handicraft projects

Region-based representatives of Tozeur's National Handicrafts Office (ONA) have recently formulated a program to promote private initiatives in the handicrafts and trades sectors.

While the development associations have allowed several domestic artisans, 38 credits for a sum of 36,000 dinars, 21 projects have been aided by the Tunisian Solidarity Bank, since 2010, to a limit of 30,000 dinars.

As of now, the department's mind is fixed on the assessment of 50 applications for credit for working capital and also on the current development program to market handicrafts in the region. In addition, introduction of training centres concentrating on textiles, wicker-work and palm wood.
