Urban Haat, a concept introduced by the Union Ministry of Textiles was recently inaugurated in Hazaribaug in Jharkhand state.
The Urban Haat which is spread over 9.75 acres has a production hall, 50 stalls, food courts and a design center.
The concept was introduced by the Ministry of Textiles in a bid to encourage rural artisans and Self Helf Groups (SHG).
The Urban Haat has been built at a cost of Rs 50 million, 70 percent of which has been borne by the Union Government.
