Snapdeal, one of India's largest e-commerce platforms, has joined arms with Orissa State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd and Odisha Handicraft Corporation Ltd to promote traditional state crafts.

Boyanika and Utkalika, brands representing Odia handlooms and handicrafts respectively, will now be available for customers to shop on Snapdeal, according to media reports.

Odisha's government's affiliation with Sanpdeal is expected to give a boost to Odisha's handloom and handicrafts industry.

Through the new arrangement, Snapdeal aims to take Odisha handlooms and handicraft products to consumers living in more than 5,000 towns across India.

Boyanika, a brand of primary weaver's cooperative societies of Odisha, will sell products like bomkei, berhampuri, and sambalpuri silk sarees, along with tussar silk products through Snapdeal's online marketplace.

While Utalika will offer various home decor products and traditional jewellery on the snapdeal platform. Together the brands will provide an exciting range of 200 different products. (HO)
