Chandrasekhar Rao extended support to the handloom weavers of the state, by directing officials to formulate a comprehensive plan to revive the industry, and in the process create a market for their products. For lack of remunerative wages, handloom workers have either left the industry or are working in the powerloom sector.
At a review meeting on the handloom sector, Rao suggested as part of the plan, the government place more orders for uniforms for school children, police and hospitals.Telangana chief minister K.
