Design and innovation are important for the development of the Turkish home textile industry and can help home textile manufacturers compete in international markets, said Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) president Mehmet Buyukeksi, at the recently held Turkey Home Textiles Design Competition in the Turkish city of Bursa.

Mr. Buyukeksi said that events like the design competition push home textile manufacturers to invest in innovation and creating something that can meet international standards and help them compete in the global market.

Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB) president Abraham Burkay said that the design competition provides an opportunity to bring together industry professionals under the same roof to exchange information and discuss strategies that can help create value-added products.

The 4th edition of Turkey Home Textiles Design Competition was organized by UTIB with the support of TIM and Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The event saw over 31 exhibitors showcasing their latest innovative home textile products.

The competition saw participation from more than 100 home textile manufacturers from the country, of which the final 31 designs that were selected were put on display for around 250 visitors who attended the show.
