Recently the famous “China's Fabrics Art Town” Xu village in Haining was busily greeting friends and guests all over the world again. 2006 Haining Home Textiles Expo grandly opened in late September and lasted for 3 days.
In this Expo nationwide Haining new family fabrics art contest and Haining China soft decoration shape design contest were organized for the first time in national home textiles industry. It displayed something totally new and fresh.
Such home textiles expo has been held for six times in Haining. Five years ago, the annual sales value of home textile makers in Haining was less than 100 million Yuan, but today there are 10 companies with annual sales value surpassing 100 million Yuan.
Since 2001, the home textiles expo has occupied an exhibiting area over 20 million square meters with over 1360 booths; meanwhile it has accommodated more than 2800 exhibiters with over 50,000 local visitors and 20,000 foreign visitors.
The nationwide home textiles industry keeps an eye on Haining and Haining industry looks at Xu village. It is learned that after over 20 years development, Haining home textiles industry now has taken up 35 percent of the domestic market share.
Till the last year, there were about 11000 of local home textiles units in Haining with annual production of 1 billion square meters in various decoration materials.
The production value of home textiles industry reached 15.5 billion Yuan in 2005. He Feng, the Vice Secretary General of China's home textiles association, said, “the jacquard home textiles production in Xu village presents the largest size in China. Since China is the world biggest home textiles production base, therefore Xu village should be the world biggest jacquard home textiles production center.”
