As the western nations are recovering from the effects of the global economic crunch, the Bangladeshi home textile exports have also started bouncing back.

Home textile producers in the country are eyeing sizeable gains, as with the betterment of global financial situation more orders are flowing in from foreign buyers.

The sector bounced back robustly after shedding the effect of the economic slump, as it registered a 77.75 percent growth during the second half of 2010 to rise to $296.01 million, as over the corresponding period last year.

Further, while the sector generated revenues worth $402.49 million through home textile exports during last fiscal, the export target for current fiscal has been fixed at $563.50 million.

The country each year produces over 469.7 million metres of home textiles, the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association revealed.
