China industrial output grows 4.8% in Nov on manufacturing strength

China industrial output grows 4.8% in Nov on manufacturing strength

China’s industrial activity showed steady momentum in November, with value-added output rising 4.8 per cent year-over-year (YoY), according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Over the first 11 months of the year, industrial output grew 6 per cent compared with the same period last year.

The data tracks the performance of large industrial enterprises with annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan.

Sector-wise, manufacturing expanded 4.6 per cent. Output from electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply rose 4.3 per cent, said Chinese media reports quoting NBS.

Out of 41 major industrial sectors, 30 reported growths during the month.

On the product front, 310 of 623 major industrial products recorded higher output in November. Ethylene production climbed 7.3 per cent to 3.09 million tonnes. New energy vehicle production surged 17 per cent to 1.84 million units.

Energy-related indicators also improved, with power generation increasing 2.7 per cent to 779.2 billion kilowatt-hours, and crude oil processing volumes rising 3.9 per cent to 60.83 million tonnes.
