In the third quarter, the country's GDP expanded by 4.8 per cent YoY and 1.1 per cent quarter on quarter.
The tertiary industry expanded by 5.4 per cent YoY in the first three quarters, outpacing a 3.8-per cent YoY rise of the primary industry and a 4.9-per cent YoY increase of the secondary industry, a state-controlled media outlet reported.
The country’s value-added industrial output increased by 6.2 per cent YoY in the first nine months this year. In September, the output expanded by 6.5 per cent YoY, with the manufacturing sector’s value-added output increasing by 7.3 per cent YoY.
China's retail sales of consumer goods went up by 4.5 per cent YoY to nearly $36.59 trillion yuan in the first three quarters. In September, the retail sales of consumer goods rose by 3 per cent YoY to 4.2 trillion yuan.
The surveyed urban unemployment rate on average in China stood at 5.2 per cent in the first three quarters. The rate went down by 0.1 percentage point from August to 5.2 per cent in September.
