Fifteen companies recently proposed investments worth ₹125.08 billion (~$1.419 billion) in the textile sector in India’s Madhya Pradesh (MP) state.

The offers came at an interactive session in New Delhi to attract investment in the state’s textile sector.

The companies expressed interest in investing in the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (MITRA) Park being developed near Badnawar in Dhar district.

State Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the 15 major companies include Trident and Arvind Mills, and the projects are expected to generate over 18,000 jobs.

"All government facilities are available to investors. The success of your businesses is guaranteed by our government," he was quoted as saying by domestic media outlets.

Indian Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh was also present at the event.

A detailed plan worth ₹20 billion has been prepared for the park, and environmental clearance has already been secured, Indian textiles secretary Neelam Shami Rao said.
