Following a call and employment promise by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, handloom and textile workers from the state, who had migrated decades back to Gujarat, Haryana and Maharashtra in search of work, are now said to be interested to return to the state.

Some textile workers from Surat met industries minister KT Rama Rao recently and expressed their happiness at the government taking interest in textile workers, according to a report in a leading Indian daily.

Apart from advising the workers to equip themselves better to meet job requirements, Rama Rao urged those who had set up small textile units in other states to think of coming to Telangana. (DS)
