Saudi Polymers to start Propylene & PP plants in Q1

Saudi Polymers based in Saudi Arabia plans to begin commercial production of its newly built propylene and polypropylene (PP) plants in the first quarter of 2012.

The propylene plant has a production capacity of 445,000 tons and the polypropylene plant 400,000 tons, revealed an official of Saudi Polymers to fibre2fashion.

He further added that the commercial production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2012, however, the date has not been finalised yet.

Saudi Polymers Company is located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and manufactures polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene.

It is jointly owned by National Petrochemicals Company (Petrochem) and Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Company Ltd.
