Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Regional Development Verica Kalanovic presented in Svrljig agreements on encouraging investments for the companies DIV, Kameleon and Niska Mlekara dairy, which will hire 412 new workers in Svrljig.

Textile company Kameleon will invest approximately €550,000 in Svrljig and will employ 60 workers, while the machine maker DIV will expand its capacity, and will invest €17.3 million and employ 300 new workers.

While delivering the contracts, Kalanovic underlined that through the realisation of the Programme for investment incentives over 400 workers in Svrljig, one of the poorest Serbian municipalities, will find jobs.

She reiterated that the state can fight the crisis by employment, investment, export stimulation and increase of competitiveness.

The programme for investment incentives treats domestic and foreign investors equally if they want to invest in Serbia, Kalanovic observed, adding that six companies, five of which are Serbian, have so far arrived to the municipality of Svrljig thanks to the programme administered by the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA).
