Turkey asks textile units to adopt cleaner techniques

The Government of Turkey has asked large-scale textile manufacturers in the country to adopt cleaner production practices.
 
It has asked textile producers with a processing capacity of over 10 tons per day to submit their cleaner production plans to the Ministry of Environment by December 31, 2012.
 
The Ministry is emphasizing on a series of best practices for the textile industry, which includes cleaner production techniques, recycling of waste and conservation of water and energy.
