Hong Kong firm to set up textile & garment unit in Vietnam

Smart Shirts Ltd., a Hong Kong-based firm, has announced that it will set up a textile and garment manufacturing unit in Bao Minh Industrial Park, located in Vietnam’s northern province of Nam Dinh.
 
The company plans to construct a project that would cover the entire value chain from yarn production to garment manufacturing on an area of 20 hectares.
 
The company said it will invest US$ 18 million in the first phase of the project, which will get completed next year.
 
In the first phase, the firm will construct a yarn production unit with an annual capacity of 3,200 tons.
 
The Bao Minh Industrial Park is spread over an area of 154 hectares and it has an efficient waste water management system, which is ideal for textile dyeing and garment manufacturing.
