Xinjiang textile industry output declines in value

The total output of large-scale textile enterprises based in Xinjiang touched 15.063 billion yuan from January-September this year, showing a decline of 16.26 percent year-on-year, according to Xinjiang Statistics Bureau.
 
The output of synthetic textile sector was 6.573 billion yuan, registering a decline of 21 percent year-on-year, while the output of cotton textile sector was 8.202 billion yuan, down 12.84 percent year-on-year.
 
In the first three quarters of 2012, large-scale textile enterprises in Xinjiang made a loss of 446 million yuan, showing a year-on-year drop of 398.6 percent in profits. Of which, the synthetic textile sector made loss of 233 million yuan, which is a drop of 22.9 percent year-on-year in profits, while the cotton textile sector made a loss of 213 million yuan, a fall of 238 percent year-on-year in profits.
 
However, the apparel manufacturing sector made a profit of 0.1 million yuan, registering a rise of 400 percent year-on-year.
