TN govt sanctions Rs 1.04bn for spinning mills

The Government of Tamil Nadu, a state in southern India, has announced a Rs. 1.04 billion package for upgradation of machinery in the five cooperative spinning mills in the state, which currently operate on outdated machinery.
 
The Tamil Nadu government provides free dhotis, sarees and uniforms to underprivileged sections of the society, and the yarn to make these fabrics and garments is supplied to the weavers by the five spinning mills.
 
The Rs. 1.04 billion sanctioned by the government would be utilized to renovate and equip the spinning mills with latest machines in order to enhance their production capacity.
