Jobs swell at China's large-scale textile firms in 2001-11

There has been a sharp rise in number of people working in Chinese large-scale textile firms during the ten year period from 2001 to 2011.
 
During the decade, the number of people employed by large-scale textile enterprises rose sharply from 7.38 million to 11.56 million, a growth of 56.63 percent, according to relevant data. 
 
Similarly, the value of output of these textile enterprises grew from 889.45 billion yuan in 2001 to 4.761 trillion yuan in 2011, which is an increase of 422.36 percent in terms of comparable prices.
 
Accordingly, the total profit of these textile firms shot up from 29.5 billion yuan in 2001 to 297.8 billion yuan in 2011, a 9-fold increase in terms of comparable prices.
