The CM said this during a meeting with an All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) led by APTMA Chairman Ahsan Bashir. The APTMA delegation updated the CM regarding the situation that has aroused after cessation of power and gas supply to industrial units.

Mr. Sharif said the issue of discrimination with Punjab, which is enduring worst electricity load-shedding, was discussed at the Council of Common Interests and energy conference, where it was decided that all provinces across the country would have to endure uniform load-shedding. Also, it was decided to compensate the loss suffered by Punjab due to discrimination, he added.

However, none of these decisions have been made effective till date.

He said total cessation of power and gas supply to industries in Punjab has rendered millions of workers unemployed and has also severely impacted country’s exports, affecting the country’s economy. The CM said that entrepreneurs in Punjab deserve compensation.
