China's yarn and fabric output jumps in Jan-Mar'13

The production of yarn and fabric in China increased in the first three months of the current year.
 
China’s yarn output stood at 4.968 million tons during the first quarter of 2013, showing an increase of 11.3 percent year-on-year, according to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
 
Cotton yarn accounted for 75 percent of all yarn production in China during the three-month period, while synthetic yarn and cotton mixed yarn accounted for 13 percent and 11 percent, respectively.
 
From January to March 2013, the output of synthetic yarn in China increased by 13.6 percent year-on-year, whereas the production of cotton mixed yarn grew by 6.4 percent year-on-year.
 
Meanwhile, China’s fabric production during the period under review stood at 9.716 billion metres, registering a growth of 8.5 percent year-on-year. Cotton fabrics had a 56 percent share in China’s overall fabric output.
