Chinese textile & apparel firms' profit up in Jan-April'13

From January to April this year, the large-scale textiles and clothing enterprises in China earned business revenue of 547.81 billion yuan, showing an increase of 13.8 percent year-on-year, according to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
 
The total profits of these large-scale textile and apparel firms registered 29.81 billion yuan during the four-month period, also an increase of 13.8 percent year-on-year.
 
Similarly, the main business income of chemical fibre manufacturing industry was 226.11 billion yuan during January to April 2013, showing an increase of 9.5 percent year-on-year. However, the total profits of the synthetic fibre industry declined by 3.2 percent year-on-year to 5.3 billion yuan.
 
The overall business income of all the large-scale enterprise in China, including textile and garment firms, shot up by 11.9 percent year-on-year to 30.417 trillion yuan. The total profit earned by these enterprises grew by 11.4 percent year-on-year to 1.61 trillion yuan from January to April this year.
