The regional government of Bashkortostan in the Russian Federation has given green signal to three projects, including purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and textile projects.

The Ministry of Economic Development of Bashkortostan has approved the expansion and modernization of production capacities of Bashkir Textile Mill LLC, which products technical textiles for industrial enterprises. The project is estimated to cost 350 million rubles and is expected to be completed next year.

According to the Press Service of the Ministry, construction of a PTA and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production plant of RusPETF LLC has also been approved. The project is a joint venture of United Petrochemical Company and Mexican Alpek. The project to be implemented in 2014-17 would involve an investment of about 19.78 billion rubles. Once complete, the project will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of PTA and 500,000 tons of PET.

Bashkortostan is one of the most developed regions of the Russian Federation in terms of its gross regional output, volume of industrial production, agricultural production, and investment in fixed assets. It is also the most populous of the republics in Russia.
