Ram needlepunches 'sandwich' ahead of home bread 'dossa' to promote technical textiles

Areas in technical textiles that he clearly earmarks are Needle Punching and Spun Lace which relates to application areas like automotive and household wipes, respectively.

Dr Ram went on to explain how the idea originated from a 'foreign' sandwich (he used to eat a lot at a Leeds, UK, joint pierced with tooth prick, during his study there) and not from his 'native staple bread' – dossa that has clear bearing of a great Indian who made it big, abroad.

The symposium was organized jointly by Society of Dyers and Colourists, UK, India Chapter and Textiles Committee, Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, yesterday in Mumbai.
