Cotton planting ruined by droughts and poor prices

Market analysts have predicted that Australian farmers will sow the smallest cotton crop this season in last 20 years.

Industry experts said issues like drought and repressed prices will reduce cotton production to one million bales.

Low prices this year as against above average costs of food grains add woes to marginal moisture availability due to shortfall from winter cereal crop, hence there would be dropdown in domestic plantings.
