National Textile Corporation (NTC) reported that seven of the textile mills that had undergone reformation will start operations this year.
It was also informed that around 15 other revamped factories are expected to be operational by October 2007.
Textile minister, Shankarsinh Vaghela, said, “Machinery at the cost of Rs500 crore is being imported and installed (in these mills).”
Vaghela said that revival of 22 factories had already started and joint venture opportunities were invited for 10 other mills.
As for any Expression of Interest (EoI) for collaborations, the Minister said it was only beginning and that the Government was optimistic.
