Textile industrial output improves steadily

According to the latest statistics data, in January-April 2007 period industrial output of China's textile industry improved steadily.

Chemical fiber production reached 7.3 million tons, an increase of 17.24 percent over the same period of the previous year.

Yarn output totaled 5.7 million tons in January to April, up 20.42 percent.

Cloth production amounted to 14.48 billion meters, year-on-year rise of 11.54 percent.

Non-wovens completed an output of 182,029 tons in January-April, a growth of 0.01 percent.

Clothing production totaled 5.53 billion pieces during the period, a boost of 14.46 percent.
