Presently, the district has approximately 92 big and small industries with an investment of about Rs665 crore, engaging about 24,500 people. In addition to that, there are about 22,250 registered small scale industries with an investment of about Rs400 crore and providing employment to about 1.08 lakh people.
The Center has plans to convert Mysore into an export hub and to substantiate its intentions; the Government supports 65 export oriented units in the district by means of about 196 commercial banks that caters loan as when required.
Furthermore, organizations like Global Trade and Technology Center (GTTC), Central Sericultural Research & Training Institute (CSRTI), Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP) and Software Technology Park have been rendering expert services for infrastructural, technical and HR assistance.
