Recognizing the critical situation of exports in Taiwan, Government recently announced complete support and productive measures to help industries, especially textiles.
Now, Taiwan has set up a special department in order to transform textile industry into a high-tech sector.
This department, named 'Office for Development of Taiwan Textile Industry', has drafted a progress plan till 2015.
Official said that the department is determined to separately raise output value of the industrial textile, functional textile and fashion products, to NT $100 billion.
Taiwan plans to invest NT $80 billion in industrial textile products, in order to achieve output value worth NT $180 billion by 2015.
It was declared that 25 new products in functional textiles will be supported and promoted, so that the estimated output value NT $100 billion is accomplished by 2015.
Government stressed that the eight brands in fashion industry will be given backing so as to develop the three famous brands in the world and reach output value of NT 100 billion leading to 2015.
