Govt releases funds to re-start Hetauda Textile Mill

The Hetauda Textile Mill will finally be up and running in a few days, with the government releasing Rs 80 million in funds to revive the defunct mill which had downed shutters in 2001, due to a lot of factors within and beyond its control.

The Nepalese government had appointed a new General Manager and formed a management committee headed by a joint secretary in the finance ministry in January and the mill management had asked the government to release Rs 100 million to restart operations.

Though the government has fixed April as the deadline for restarting the mill, the mill management wants some more time due to the delay in releasing the funds and also since the complete machinery needs to be completely overhauled.
