Yarn production up & fabric output down in April

China's fabric production touched 4.509 billion meters in April 2009, a decrease of 0.9 percent year-on-year, and down 2.47 percent from the previous month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to April of 2009, China's cumulative production of fabrics reached 15.874 billion meters, a decrease of 1.8 percent year-on-year.

Yarn production on the other hand stood at 1,953,800 tons in April 2009, an increase of 9.9 percent year-on-year and up 0.03 percent from the previous month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to April of 2009, China's cumulative output of yarn reached 6,702,200 tons, an increase of 8.1 percent year-on-year.
