Reduction in gas pressure leads to closure of textile units

Despite assurances given by the Pakistan federal government, there has been a reduction in gas pressure, supplied to the textile sector in the province of Punjab.

This has resulted in a closure of number of textile units in the province number. The gas pressure has been reduced from 180 million cubic feet (MCF) to 100 MCF.

The Pakistan textile sector for long has been riddled with electric and gas shortages and this is one more instance, which has the industry on tenterhooks.
