Chinese company to set up non-woven fabric plant

A Chinese company, 'Bangladesh Textile & Fibre industry Limited' will set up a fibre and non-woven fabric manufacturing industry in Comilla Export Processing Zone.

This is completely a foreign owned company that will make an investment of US $25.52 million and will manufacture different types of fibers and non-woven fabric.

This establishment will employ about 895 Bangladeshi workers including 21 foreign nationals.

An agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Bangladesh Textile & Fiber Industry Limited, in Dhaka, to this effect.

Mr. M. Mahbub Ul Alam, Member (Engineering) of BEPZA and Mr. Zhang Fang, Chairman of Bangladesh Textile & Fiber Industry Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
