Rwanda producers are set to join the East African Community Customs Union (EACCU). The industry experts foresee healthy benefits of Rwandan products in the Customs Union.
The producers of Rwanda have good capacity and they are surviving with the help of their expertise, strengths as well as trading styles and would carry on further in the Customs Union with its coherent capacity.
Customs Union is considered as an opportunity to share experiences, market and technology. It also considered as a platform wherein, efforts can be made to enter other markets outside Africa for domestic producers. For instance, the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) has the potential to market domestic textile products.
