Under the government's energy saving plans, around 300 CNG stations and 450 industrial units in Faisalabad were shut down during this week.

Adhering to a weekly rotational gas load-shedding plan, gas supply to the textile and other auxiliary industries in Faisalabad was withdrawn for 24 hours.

Textile organizations, while opposing against such persistent execution of gas load-shedding plan has demanded the government to do away with such a plan. Factory owners too opined that, due to power cuts every day for almost six to ten hours clubbed with gas cut for 24 hours once a week, the textile industrial life has got disturbed.

Owing to constant energy crunch, the textile industry in Faisalabad is incurring a loss of Rs 250 million per day, while the gas crisis has compelled all the CNG stations in Faisalabad and in cities adjacent to it to face closure.
