Keiyo restarts ethylene plant

Keiyo Ethylene Co, a Japanese petrochemical joint venture between three companies, has restarted its naphtha cracker plant which had been shut down early this week, due to a technical problem.

According to Mitsui, the 690,000 tons per annum plant was restarted on Thursday, after an unplanned shutdown on Monday morning.

Keiyo is a joint venture between Maruzen, Mitsui Chemicals and Sumitomo Chemical Co, with a 55, 22.5 and 22.5 percent stake, respectively.
