PetroVietnam Petrochemical and Textile Fibre Joint-stock Co (PVTex) recently revealed that the construction work of the Dinh Vu polyester fibre plant has almost reached the completion stage.

The plant is likely to begin its operations by May and will be handed over to the investors by August, 2011.

The plant is situated in the port city of Hai Phong's Dinh Vu Industrial belt in the north and has been financially supported by PVTex, with an overall investment capital of US $324.85 million.

The production capacity of the Dinh Vu polyester fibre plant is 500 tons of fibre per day.

The plant's investor also intends to launch three more fibre mills in an effort to enhance the quality as well as quantity of polyester synthetic fibre (PSF) commodities.
