In a dramatic development, the textile spinning sector has agreed to allocate their share of electricity to the value-added powerloom industry in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

It may be recalled that, the Pakistani textile sector is facing a serious shortage of both electricity and gas, which has led to long hours of outages and load-shedding.

When it was pointed out to the textile spinning sector that, the powerloom sector was starved off electricity, they readily offered their share of electricity, to bring down load- shedding duration for the Faisalabad powerloom sector.

Editor's note –
The spinning sector has been always at loggerheads with the value-added textile sector in Pakistan. So, this is a very magnanimous decision on the part of the spinners to offer their share of the electricity to the powerloom sector in Faisalabad.
