In the first quarter of 2011, employment in the textile and apparel sector in Macau sank along with that in other manufacturing sectors.
However, the decline in number of employees was more drastic in the textile and garment industry, than in any other sector.
While the overall manufacturing sector registered a drop of 18.1 percent year-on-year, employment in the textile and clothing industry plunged 37.1 percent.
