Target set to shutdown dyeing & printing units in 2011

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has set a target for elimination of 1.73 billion metres of textile backward capacity in 2011. The target is applicable to the dyeing and finishing industry in China.

Province wise, the target has been broken down to 367.3 million metres of backward capacity for Hubei province, followed by 325 million metres for Shandong, 205.1 million metres for Zhejiang, 145 million metres for Guangdong, 140 million metres for Gansu, 101 million metres for Liaoning, 100 million metres for Hunan, and 94 million metres for Jiangsu.

The Ministry has also set target for each individual industry within every province. For example, of the 325 million metres of backward capacity to be eliminated in Shandong province, Shandong Dahaitian Printing & Dyeing Co Ltd and Weifang Qirong Textile Co Ltd have each been assigned a target of 60 million metres.

The target set for Qingdao No.2 Printing & Dyeing Mill is 45 million metres, whereas it is 30 million metres for Qingdao Phoenix Printing & Dyeing Co Ltd, and 15 million meters for Changyi City Shiye Coated Cloth Dyeing Co Ltd.

A city-wise target within every province has been set by the Ministry. For instance, the target of 205.1 million set for Zhejiang province includes 97.1 million metres for Shaoxing city, 62.2 million metres for Huzhou city, and 45.8 million metres for Hangzhou city.
