Poland sees 1.6% dip in industrial producer price index in May 2023

Poland experienced a dip in the producer price index in the industrial sector in May 2023, as per Statistics Poland. Preliminary data indicated a 1.6 per cent decrease compared to April 2023.

The manufacturing sector has been hit particularly hard, with price decreases recorded across several sub-sectors. Specifically, prices in the manufacture of apparel fell by 0.5 per cent, while prices in the manufacture of textiles dropped by 2.4 per cent, Statistics Poland said in a press release.

Year-on-year comparison showed a 3.1 per cent increase in the producer price index in the industrial sector when contrasted with figures recorded in May 2022.
