Spain's business turnover index up 1.1% in July 2023

Spain's business turnover index (BTI) showed a month-on-month increase of 1.1 per cent between June and July 2023, according to data from the National Statistics Institute. This is a significant uptick of 2.3 points from the previous month's figures.

Among the four sectors analysed, none displayed negative monthly growth rates, with the trade sector leading with a 1.1 per cent increase.

Despite this monthly boost, the annual comparison was less optimistic. After seasonal and calendar adjustments, the total business turnover index in July 2023 saw a decrease of 3.5 per cent compared to the same month in the previous year. This annual rate is, however, 2.3 points higher than what was registered in June, as per the National Statistics Institute.
