US imports of industrial textiles totalled $1,007.041 million in the same period of 2024, indicating flat growth, according to sourcing intelligence tool TexPro.
In the first four months of 2025, US imports from Mexico amounted to $162.835 million, accounting for 16.01 per cent of total imports. Imports from China were valued at $117.500 million (11.55 per cent), India at $115.461 million (11.35 per cent), Canada at $98.124 million (9.65 per cent), and Vietnam at $83.847 million (8.25 per cent).
Trade data from recent years indicates intense competition among supplier countries seeking to expand their share in this segment. Mexico, which held an 11.32 per cent share in 2022, increased its share to 16.01 per cent in early 2025. Meanwhile, China, the top supplier in 2022 with a 14.57 per cent share, saw its share fall to 11.55 per cent, slipping to second place.
India also gained ground, with its market share rising from 7.44 per cent in 2022 to 11.35 per cent in 2025, improving its rank from fifth to third. Canada, previously the third-largest supplier in 2022 with an 11.17 per cent share, saw its share decline to 9.65 per cent, dropping to fourth place. Notably, Canada had regained the top spot in 2023 with a 13.76 per cent share, but Mexico overtook it in 2024 with a 15.07 per cent share to reclaim the lead.
Vietnam’s share in US industrial textile imports was 9.85 per cent in 2022, ranking fourth, but declined to 8.25 per cent in the first four months of 2025, placing it fifth, according to TexPro.
Overall, US industrial textile imports reached $3,132.368 million in 2024, a 5.66 per cent increase from $2,964.647 million in 2023. In 2022, the total stood at $3,235.635 million.
