Vietnam's IIP to rise by 15.6% in August 2022: GSO

Vietnam’s index of industrial production (IIP) in August 2022 is estimated to increase by 2.9 per cent than last month and by 15.6 per cent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The process and manufacturing industry has also gone up by 16.2 per cent in August 2022 compared to the same period last year, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office (GSO).

In the eight months of 2022, IIP was estimated to increase by 9.4 per cent over the same period last year (in the same period in 2021, up 5.5 per cent). Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 10.4 per cent (in the same period in 2021, it increased by 7 per cent), according to GSO’s website.

IIP in the eight months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 increased in 61 localities and decreased in 02 localities across the country. While IIP in Tra Vinh decreased by 26.6 per cent, it decreased by 15 per cent in Ha Tinh.

The number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of August 1, 2022, increased by 0.6 per cent over the same period last month and 23.2 per cent over the same period last year.
