Cambodia’s market share has shown steady growth over the years. In 2019, its share was just 2.09 per cent, when Switzerland imported apparel worth $151.643 million from Cambodia, out of total imports of $7.260 billion, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
Cambodia remained the eighth-largest sourcing country for Switzerland’s apparel imports. Its share rose to 2.81 per cent in 2022, when Switzerland’s apparel imports totalled $8.157 billion. Imports from Cambodia were valued at $229.242 million that year. The figure increased to $250.065 million in 2023 and $260.272 million in 2024, with Cambodia’s share rising further to 2.99 per cent and 3.11 per cent, respectively. Switzerland’s total apparel imports were recorded at $8.373 billion in 2023 and $8.365 billion in 2024.
During January–February 2025, trousers and shorts were the top products imported from Cambodia. Switzerland’s imports of trousers and shorts were valued at $14.725 million, accounting for 34.35 per cent of total apparel imports during the period, as per TexPro.
The imports of jerseys from Cambodia were valued at $7.884 million (18.39 per cent), coats at $5.810 million (13.55 per cent), shirts at $1.703 million (3.97 per cent), and dresses at $1.259 million (2.94 per cent) in the first two months of 2025.
