Vietnam’s share was 14.19 per cent in Canada’s total apparel imports of $10.091 billion in the first eleven months of 2023. The eastern nation is the second-largest apparel supplier for Canada, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
Canada had imported apparel worth $1,751.118 million from Vietnam in 2022, which had seen a jump of 45.99 per cent from the shipment of $1,199.446 million in 2021. The inbound shipment was recorded as $961.623 million in 2020, $1,063.060 million in 2019, $870.835 million in 2018, and $753.358 million in 2017.
Out of Canada’s total apparel imports from Vietnam, woven apparel imports were valued at $717.905 million in January-November 2023, which was 3.83 per cent lower than the shipment of woven apparel imports of $746.511 million in January-November 2022. Canada imported 15.26 per cent woven apparel from Vietnam out of its total of $4.705 million in the first 11 months of 2023. It was the third-largest woven apparel supplier for Canada, as per TexPro.
During the year 2022, woven apparel imports from Vietnam totalled $804.329 million, which was 15.08 per cent of Canada’s total woven apparel imports of $5.334 billion.
