Canada’s apparel imports from Vietnam stood at $1,617.814 million, making Vietnam the second-largest supplier with a share of 14.99 per cent. Similarly, imports from Bangladesh amounted to $1,413.280 million (13.09 per cent), from Cambodia $1,071.200 million (9.92 per cent), from Italy $351.425 million (3.26 per cent), and from India $336.501 million (3.12 per cent), according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
China, the top supplier, saw its share slightly rise in 2024 from 29.48 per cent in 2023. Vietnam’s share also increased from 14.17 per cent in 2023 to 14.99 per cent. The share of Bangladesh was 13.25 per cent, Cambodia 8.96 per cent, Italy 3.67 per cent, and India 3.29 per cent in 2023.
Among the top suppliers, imports from China declined by 0.3 per cent last year, down from $3,198.821 million in 2023. Imports from Vietnam rose by 5.18 per cent from $1,538.209 million, while imports from Cambodia increased by 10.15 per cent from $972.518 million in 2023.However, imports from Bangladesh eased by 1.71 per cent from $1,437.842 million, those from Italy declined by 11.76 per cent from $398.235 million, and imports from India fell by 5.72 per cent from $356.916 million, as per TexPro.
